Important Digital Certificate Updates
Printing Digital Certificates
A key feature of the newly launched Red Cross Digital Certificate is the ability for instructors to print copies of their certificates. Along with the tremendous interest in this feature, we've learned that some of you have encountered challenges printing certificates for your students.
To make sure you are able to print out high-quality digital certificates we have provided the following guidelines:
For wallet cards, be sure to check with your cardstock manufacturer to ensure you have the latest instructions, printer settings and print margins – specific printer settings and directions may vary slightly between manufacturers.
Some cardstock manufacturers may require downloading software for optimal performance.
For 8.5" x 11" certificates, be sure to select the "Landscape" setting on your printer for optimal performance.
Course Record Entry
To ensure that students are able to retrieve their Red Cross Digital Certificate, it is essential that you do not enter your own email for each student when entering the course record. Instructors will automatically receive copies of students' digital certificates after they have entered the course record. If a student does not have an email, leave the field blank.
Retrieving Digital Certificates
If you are an instructor who entered student and course information through the Learning Center and did not provide an email address for the students, your students can easily access their digital certificate by going to
redcross.org/getcertificate and providing some basic information about themselves and the course.
However, if the class was in Blended Learning format, the students will not be able to look up their digital certificate on the redcross.org/getcertificate page. They will automatically receive a link to their digital certificate through their email and they will also be able to access their digital certificate through redcross.org by signing into their account and clicking on My Transcripts. The Training Support Center can also issue a new email to the student that contains a link to their digital certificate from the Learning Center.
