The American Red Cross is pleased to introduce the updated Lifeguard Management course, now available as a highly interactive online course, including video lessons and scenario-based activities. This 3½ hour course is designed to prepare aquatics professionals to effectively manage lifeguards and help keep patrons, staff and facilities safe. It’s available online to save you time and give you the flexibility to learn when and where you want.

The course covers the following topics:

• Lifeguard manager role for various facility types, including information on guidelines and codes

• Staff management, including hiring, training, teamwork and evaluations

• Injury prevention, workplace safety and emergency action planning

• Risk management and legal considerations

Candidates who successfully complete this course receive a 2-year certification, including our NEW digital certificate.

The online course replaces the traditional instructor-led classroom version of the course, which will be retired on December 31, 2013.
